QuickBooks Point of Sale Multi Store Software Architecture

The chart above depicts QuickBooks Point of Sale Multi Store Environment. It consists of three Servers – Head Office (HO) Server and two remotes servers namely Abuja Server Workstation and PortHarcourt Server Workstation. Each server has Client workstation(s). The Server Workstation has a database which client workstation(s) can access over a Local Area Network (LAN). HO Server and the two remotes servers communicate via the internet - known as Stores Exchange in QuickBooks POS Multi Store. However, each server can work offline to perform other activities like ringing up sales, sales returns, etc. Abuja and PortHarcourt branches activities are monitored and controlled from the HO Server. Inventory items including their details such as selling price can only be created on the HO Server. The HO also set price changes for items.
